Biography
Will Rodriguez is a drummer, percussionist, and music educator based in Long Island, New York. Growing up in a diverse home introduced him to an eclectic array of music. At age nine, he began to perform in his local church band as the drummer playing Latin styles such as cumbia and merengue.
Later in his adolescence he learned to play all percussion instruments including mallet, hand, marching, and orchestral percussion through his public school program. He attained the role of section leader for his high school drumline and was selected as an All State NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) musician.
In 2012, Will pursued his education at the esteemed Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Focused on studying performance, he played with various Berklee ensembles of all genres. He was a Berklee city music mentor in the youth outreach program for which he was awarded Mentor of the Year award in 2014. Will worked under Windish Music and Productions as a drummer for the Hersheypark Band.
After Berklee, Will was the drummer for Boston folk rock band The Wolff Sisters. As part of The Wolff Sisters, Will released two albums and toured the East Coast. The Wolff Sisters were awarded the Boston Music Award for Folk Artist of the Year in 2020.
Currently Will is performing with a diverse range of artists in the New York City metropolitan area. Recently, as the drummer for latin pop artist Matias, Will opened up for two-time Grammy nominee Steve Aoki. Will plays percussion in Long Island with various DJ and entertainment companies. Will is passionate about performing, educating, and creating special musical experiences for audiences.
